Monday August 5

Bachelor in Paradise

Reality, ABC. Monday August 5, 8pm. Season 6.

Fan favorites from previous seasons of The Bachelor franchise are back to explore love connections while living together in a far-off paradise in Mexico. ABC promises “shocking twists, surprises, unexpected guests and some of the most unlikely relationships in Bachelor history.”

Here’s the guest list so far: Annaliese, Bibiana, Blake, Caelynn, Cam, Chris B., Clay, Demi, Derek, Hannah, Jane A.,John Paul, Katie M., Kevin, Nicole, Onyeka, Sydney, Tayshia, and Wills.


Five Points

Teen Drama, Facebook Watch. Monday August 5. Season 2.

Facebook is back with a second season of their teen drama web series, Five Points. “Meet the students of Five Points High School,” says the Five Points Facebook page. “You probably already know them—or you think you do.”


Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood

Reality, VH1. Monday August 5, 8pm. Season 6.

Love & Hip-Hop: Hollywood gives us a look inside the music business, getting up close and personal with music veterans and new artists alike. This season, it’s reported that Raz B will be following in the footsteps of his fellow B2K members Omarion and Fizz, and joining the show along with Kimberly, Moniece Slaughter, Lyrica, A1, La’Britney, Ray J and Apple Watts.


Tuesday August 6


Code of the Wild

Reality, Travel. Tuesday August 6, 10pm. New.

A lost City of Gold. A colony of giants in Ecuador. A plane that vanished while carrying two American politicians. Survivalists, wilderness investigators, and brothers Chris and Casey Keefer are out to “solve history’s greatest mysteries in places inaccessible to the common man” according to the Travel Channel.


Dating #NoFilter

Reality/Comedy, E!. Tuesday August 6, 11pm. Season 2.

What’s more nerve-wracking than a blind date? A blind date followed by comedians watching said date and providing commentary. We will be watching through our fingers.


Flipping Exes

Reality, Bravo. Tuesday August 6, 10pm. New.

Nina Klemm and Michael LeSure stopped dating, only to go into business together flipping houses. This should be interesting…


Wednesday August 7



Drama, Fox. Wednesday August 7, 9pm. New.

It is hard to imagine the halls of West Beverly High School and tables of the Peach Pit without Luke Perry, but we can remember him fondly as the remaining original cast members of the 1990s hit Beverly Hills, 90210 reunite this month.

We will definitely be following #BH90210 on Twitter as Jason Priestley, Shannen Doherty, Jennie Garth, Ian Ziering, Gabrielle Carteris, Brian Austin Green, and Tori Spelling light up our TV like old times.




Drama/Comedy, CW. Wednesday August 7, 8pm. New.

Two undercover cops (Noel Clarke and Ashley Walters) fight hardened criminals in London’s East End. Grit, adrenaline, a bit of glamour, and some good laughs, Bulletproof promises to be “stylish and funny with entertaining, riveting criminal cases in each episode.”


Expedition Unknown

Reality, Discovery. Wednesday August 7, 8pm. New.

Did you get hooked on Expedition Unknown while watching Josh Gates and team search for signs of the 60-ton megalodon during Shark Week? Well join Josh for his weekly series starting Wednesday, where Discovery says the adventurer is “headed to the farthest reaches of the earth to explore legends that have remained unsolved for centuries.”


Hypnotize Me

Game show, CW. Wednesday August 7, 9pm. New.

Would you get hypnotized on TV, live in front of a studio audience? What if you could win $100,000? Tay Diggs hosts this show where contestants are told they are penguins and to throw pizzas into the audience under the command of professional hypnotists.

Chasing the Cure

Reality TNT/TBS. Thursday August 8, 8pm. New.

Real medical mysteries and the hunt for a crowd-sourced cure. Ann Curry hosts this weekly, live 90-minute broadcast featuring patients with rare, misdiagnosed, or undiagnosed illnesses and gives viewers the opportunity to call in with theories on the diagnosis.


Two Sentence Horror Stories

Horror/Anthology CW. Thursday August 8, 9pm. New.

Named for the viral fan fiction phenomenon of the same name, TSHS focuses on updated horror stories for the digital age, proving that the more things change, the more the things that scare us stay the same. Sounds spooky, somebody hold us.


Friday August 9

Social Media Murders (formerly called ‘Deadly Influencer’)

Drama LMN. Friday August 9, 8pm. Movie.

Skylar (Taylor Campbell, Death of a Cheerleader) is dedicated to managing the social media influencer careers of her high school classmates.  Maybe a little too dedicated (let’s just say… hashtag murder).


Free Meek

Documentary, Prime Video. Friday August 9. Miniseries.

Jay-Z-produces this true-crime series that investigates chart-topping rapper Meek Mill’s 2017 arrest, loaded with allegations of corruption.



Comedy/Drama, Netflix. Friday August 9. Season 3.

Geena Davis joins the #GLOWS3 cast, heading to Las Vegas for a third season.


Saturday August 10

Black Love

Reality, OWN. Saturday August 10, 9pm. Season 3.

Husband-and-wife filmmakers Codie and Tommy Oliver talk to couples that “work” to find out, well… how? This season we’ll connect with Terry and Rebecca Crews, director Salli Richardson and actor husband Dondre Whitfield, as well Oscar® winner Viola Davis and Julius Tennon, and many more inspiring couples.


Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Sports 2019

Awards show, Nickelodeon. Saturday August 10, 8pm. Special.

The 6th Annual Kids’ Choice Sports will be broadcast on August 10 from the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California (from its taping on July 11). Talk Show host and Hall of Famer Michael Strahan hosts the show for his second time, having hosted the first annual awards show in 2014.

Aurora Teagarden Mysteries: An Inheritance to Die For

Aurora is back again, after last Sunday’s Aurora Teagarden Mysteries: A Game of Cat and Mouse. Let’s watch Candace Cameron Bure tell us why Aurora, in Candace’s words, kicks butt.



Animation/Comedy, Adult Swim. Sunday August 11, midnight. Season 12.

The self-acclaimed “America’s fourth favorite animated family” of… squid… hillbillies (?) is back for another season, and for one thing, it will feature a theme song covered by Shooter Jennings. Look, honestly I have no idea what this show is about, but we’ll be watching.



Drama, HBO. Sunday August 11. Season 2.

The drama that comes with an aging patriarch and his family that owns an international media conglomerate, am I right? Season two finds the Roy family fighting to hold on to the control of their empire, while skeletons from the past come back to haunt them.


Teen Choice Awards 2019

Live event, Fox. Sunday August 11, 8pm. Special.

Oh teens, with their TikTok and newfangled uses for usb ports. Let’s watch to see what US teens of the internet think are the greatest achievements in music, film, television, sports, fashion, comedy, and the world wide web.

To prepare, here are a few actual facts to dazzle your Gen Z friends: Lil Nas X’s duet with Billy Ray Cyrus, “Old Town Road” is now the longest-running single in the Billboard Hot 100’s 61-year history. The show is hosted by Lucy Hale (Pretty Little Liars, Katy Keene) and David Dobrik this year. Lucy has won seven Teen Choice trophies, and David Dobrik has 13 million subscribers and 5.2 billion views on YouTube.
