Ahhh, cute baby animals. That’s what I need after that last trailer. Wait hold on… life begins with “instant struggles to survive”?? What are we getting ourselves into?

The Challenge: War of the Worlds 2
“A brave new war” with the “bloodiest battles,” promises this trailer. It’s 14 Brits vs. 14 Americans in the middle of the jungle, and they are each ready to risk it all for their share of the $1 million-dollar prize. Or (I did the math) $71,428.57 each before taxes.

________
Carnival Row
Game-changing top model (and actress) Cara Delevigne teams up with Orlando Bloom in what looks like some kind of a steampunk meets Sherlock Holmes meets Fairyland meets Harry Potter meets North and South (it’s a big meeting) epic. Awesome cast, ambitious genre blending, and plenty of fantasy to fill the GoT sized holes in our hearts. We’ll be there.
________
The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance
The original Henson movie was up there as one of the weirdest/coolest things we saw growing up, and we’re psyched to have our minds blown again in 2019 with more Podlings, Skeksies, Gelflings, and (hopefully) a reappearance of Fizzgig. It’s been updated with fancier effects but still features many of the same characters you loved in the first place. Check it out on Netflix Friday August 30.
Family/Drama/Fantasy, Netflix. Friday August 30th. New.
