Today, TiVo® has announced that TiVo users now can stream their recorded content from their iOS devices to an Apple TV® via the AirPlay® feature. For the first time, TiVo users can access their recorded content on TV via a third party consumer electronics device, thereby giving TiVo users yet another ultra-convenient way to watch their favorite recorded shows.

With the newest update of the TiVo iOS app, TiVo users now can play recorded content from their TiVo BOLT™, TiVo Roamio™ or TiVo Premiere DVR on Apple TV through iOS devices connected to the same in-home network. To launch a streaming session from the TiVo app, users simply need to enable the AirPlay feature through the iOS control center on their iOS device, select Apple TV from the menu, and toggle the mirroring button. Easy enough!

Lists of features from the new update include:

  • A true multiscreen experience equipped with the ability to play recorded content on Apple TV through an iOS device connected to the same in-home network.
  • When starting a streaming session from the TiVo iOS app, users now can enable the AirPlay feature through the iOS control center, select AppleTV from the menu, and toggle the “mirroring” button.
  • Once the mirroring session has started, TiVo users seamlessly can view their favorite recorded movies and TV shows on an Apple TV.

The TiVo iOS app is available in the App Store free for purchase or upgrade for existing users.
