Divorce

Comedy. Monday July 1. HBO. Season 4 premiere.

Even Sarah Jessica Parker can’t make co-parenting after divorce look effortless. Frances (SJP) and her ex-husband, Robert (Thomas Haden Church), try to move on with their personal lives while having to deal with each other every day.  Molly Shannon, Talia Balsam, Becki Newton, Sterling Jerins and Charlie Kilgore also star, along with recurring cast Tracy Letts, James Lesure and Dominic Fumusa.

The Last Czars

Drama/Documentary. Wednesday July 3. Netflix. New.

The series takes us through the 20th century Russian social revolution that led to the demise of Czar Nicholas II and ended a dynasty. And by the looks of the trailer, The Last Czars could be the most dramatic documentary we’ve seen.

________

Stranger Things

Drama. Thursday July 4. Netflix. Season 3 premiere.

Take cover in Claire’s Boutique, It looks like a supernatural beast is back in Hawkins, Indiana and it’s coming to the Starcourt Mall.

One look at this trailer will show you that they’ve stepped up the budget for season 3. And is it us, or are they hinting that town bully Billy (Dacre Montgomery) will be the mind flayer’s human host for Season 3?

Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular

Special. Thursday July 4. NBC 8pm. Live.

What beats sensational fireworks, top musicians, and rooftop views of the New York City skyline? Watching it all from the comfort of your couch, of course. NBC has promised 70,000 pyrotechnic effects will launch from the Brooklyn Bridge and 4 barges along New York’s East River on the big night. So join Luke Bryan, Ciara, Derek Hough, Maren Morris, Brad Paisley, and more and cozy up with the rest of America for a united evening at home.

And while you wait, relive 2018’s Spectacular here (we recommend skipping right to 36:05 for some classic Ricky Martin).

Supersize My Pool

Reality. Saturday July 6. HGTV 9p. New.

Mario Lopez will surprise families with drab backyards by showing up to transform their busted old pools into glorious resort-style installations. Nothing is over budget; from caves and grottos to  waterslides. “I’m on a mission to help families turn their poor excuse of a pool into an outdoor paradise,” reports Lopez.
