Jordan Peele made the leap from comedian to full-on horror impresario with his Oscar-winning (Best Original Screenplay) directorial debut, Get Out (2017). With that, he was also responsible for introducing “sunken place” to the lexicon.

The film features Daniel Kaluuya as Chris, the “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner” Black boyfriend of Allison Williams’ Rose at the bucolic home of her seemingly open-minded, “would have voted for Obama a third term if they could” family, the Armitages. Bradley Whitford and Catherine Keener co-star as Rose’s parents; Lil Rel Howery is Chris’ scene-stealing bestie – and TSA’s finest – Rod. Lakeith Stanfield appears as the dead-eyed, boater-wearing utterer of the movie’s defining phrase.

Not content to deliver thrills, chills AND laughs, Peele also shot an alternate ending that concludes the action on an entirely different note.

Here’s how to buy, rent or stream Get Out. Enjoy it (perhaps with a cuppa tea or some deconstructed Froot Loops?) and tag us with your favorite Get Out meme at #GetOutBMN.

And, if you want to make it a double feature, The Stepford Wives (1975) not only inspired Jordon Peele, it also had something specific to say about suspicious suburbs-dwelling breadwinners. Find out how to watch it here.
