This year the WorldDAB Automotive event brought together auto manufacturers and broadcasters to discuss the future of DAB+ broadcast radio in cars. The conference hosted approximately 320 attendees from 57 countries and was held in Prague.

The event provided an excellent opportunity for engaging discussions, innovative demonstrations, and networking with industry leaders. We explored the latest advancements in broadcast radio, gained valuable insights into the newest trends and technologies shaping the future of in-car entertainment and connectivity.

Gereon Joachim, Xperi’s Vice President Automotive Sales & Strategy, EMEA and Member of WorldDAB Steering Board sat on a panel with other industry leaders from BBC and StrategiaNow for a vivid and great discussion about Challenges and opportunities for broadcast radio in today’s connected cars.

In this in-depth conversation about the significance of broadcast radio in modern connected cars, experts delved into topics such as in-car media, radio trends, the evolving role of radio in today’s automotive landscape, and the future prospects for radio. They highlighted how radio provides entertainment, critical information, and plays a significant role in the connected car experience.

Gereon explored various challenges and opportunities that radio is exposed to nowadays. Additionally, he examined how DTS AutoStage is contributing to overcoming these challenges by providing a global solution for broadcasters, automakers, and audiences worldwide.

“Radio is a love story, and everyone has one to share. And it is exciting to see how important radio is for the car. But we should not forget about the challenges the industry is facing. We at Xperi are dedicated to ensuring radio keeps it prominence on the dash and an elevated lean-back experience” Gereon highlighted.
