Our TiVo team had another successful year at ANGA COM 2024, one of Europe’s leading Exhibition and Conferences for Broadband, Television & Online, at the Koelnmesse in Cologne. This year the tradeshow hosted over 480 exhibitors and had a visitor record count of more than 23,000 participants including network operators, vendors and content providers in the broadband and media distribution sector from over 80 countries.
Our TiVo team exhibited for three days on the show floor, showcasing:
- TiVo’s IPTV Platform: designed to attract, engage and retain subscribers with a content-first entertainment experience they’ll love, on any device, and future proofed to help you stay ahead.
- TiVo Broadband: our innovative video solution leveraging TiVo’s own cutting-edge technology and crafted exclusively for operators’ broadband-only customers.
- TiVo’s Discovery Solutions: designed to help drive viewership and reduce churn with intuitive, personalised content discovery, powered by advanced metadata, behavioral analytics and AI-based recommendations.
- TiVo OS: our independent media platform that allows user choice and control, enables subscriber acquisition and retention for content services, and provides recurring revenue for partners.
We had many insightful customer discussions, media briefings, and a great time networking at ANGA COM NIGHT.
Additionally, our VP Business Development & Strategy, Patrick Byrden shared his insights about “Video on the go – how an independent media platform can extend revenue opportunities inside and outside the home” during the Media Distribution panel at the Innovation Stage.
He talked about how Xperi is leveraging its TiVo video expertise to help automotive OEMs shift from radio to connected audio and personalised video, and how a multi-platform approach also benefits TV operators, streaming platforms and TV OEMs.
Patrick highlighted that “being able to underline that Powered by TiVo TVs and cars were available in Germany, while Panasonic announced our partnership on the same day in Düsseldorf, really resonated with the audience. Also, the cross-platform message was not something the audience had heard before, so that generated some meaningful discussions.”
He continued that “by 2030, up to 20% of vehicles in Europe equipped with head-unit displays will have VOD capabilities*. This will allow for additional monetisation, heightened viewer engagement, and a surge of data to drive further innovation.”
Our GM EMEA Sales, Gabriel Cosgrave, spent some time with Julian Clover of Broadband TV News to share the company’s latest updates about Powered by TiVo TVs that are now for sale across Europe on multiple brands, monetisation opportunities for partners being part of the Powered by TiVo programme and other business areas that Xperi is active in including the connected car sector and our recently announced TiVo Broadband fully managed TV service for broadband operators.
“TiVo Broadband, which we announced at CES is coming to Europe with partners such as Evolution Digital. Essentially what that is doing is taking our full user experience and content that’s available on a smart TV and bringing it into the broadband only subs world through connected devices.” said Gabriel Cosgrave, “It allows operators, altnets, and smaller ISPs access to a fully managed TV service that they wouldn’t really be able to get before from a scale perspective, so even smaller and mid-tier as well as the tier 1s have a plug and play TV service that allows them access to all the major SVODs, AVODs and our FAST channels services.”
