Transferring web videos from your Mac to your TiVo DVR

Hide the steps

Launch the Mac2TiVo application located in the same folder as Roxio Toast 10 Titanium.

Click the Add button and select a folder which contains video files that you want to transfer and view on your TiVo DVR, then click Open.

Note: You can also drag folders directly from Finder to the Mac2TiVo window.

Click "Start Server"

On your TiVo DVR, bring up the Now Playing List and scroll to the bottom.

You should see your computer name listed here, such as "Jane's iMac". Highlight this entry in the Now Playing List and press Select on your remote.

You're now browsing video stored on your Mac. You can select titles to begin transferring to your DVR and begin viewing them almost immediately while they’re transferring.

What types of web video can I transfer to my TiVo DVR?

Mac2TiVo supports almost any video that can be played back by QuickTime Player on your Mac which includes QuickTime Movies (.mov), H.264, and MPEG-4 video, as well as MPEG-2 video.

Need more help?

Not all programs may be transferred using the Multi-Room Viewing or TiVoToGo features due to the use of copy protection mechanisms permitted under the FCC’s encoding rules. Some shows cannot be transferred due to the copy protection assigned them by the program provider. These shows usually are marked with a red circle-slash icon. (47 C.F.R. 76.1904)
