Who qualifies for the TiVo affiliate program?

The TiVo affiliate program is open to developing many partnerships with sites of all sizes. Anyone may submit an application. TiVo reserves the right to refuse a site if it contains content that we find objectionable, including explicit language, content that promotes violence or sexually explicit material.

Note: If your application is accepted but TiVo later determines your site to be unsuitable for the program, this agreement may be terminated.

Is the TiVo affiliate program free to join?

Yes. There are no charges involved in joining the TiVo affiliate program or Commission Junction. See the affiliate commission structure.

How do I get started?

You can get started with just three easy steps:

1. Sign up with our affiliate program partner, Commission Junction.
2. Once your short application is approved, choose from a variety of text links and banner ads to place onto your website.
3. Place the links anywhere on your website.

Can I join if I am based outside the US?

Unfortunately, at the present time TiVo cannot accept affiliates from countries other than the United States.

How will my referrals be tracked?

TiVo has teamed up with Commission Junction to provide affiliates with trusted third-party tracking, real-time reporting, and monthly commission check disbursement. Once you sign up for our program, you'll be taken to the Commission Junction site, where you'll create your own secure account. Once a member of Commission Junction, you can monitor your success 24 hours a day from www.cj.com.

When will I be paid?

Once you have accumulated commissions of $25.00 or more, Commission Junction will send you a check for your earnings once a month. Commissions will be paid approximately 30 days following the month they were accrued.

How will TiVo know how much traffic my site is generating?

Each banner and link located on your Web site contains a unique tag identifying your site. When a visitor uses one of your links to come to TiVo.com, the tag is stored in the user’s browser. Then when that visitor purchases a TiVo subscription plan, the tag is passed on to an Order Database. Commission Junction, an impartial third-party, tracks these sign-ups, calculates your commissions, and provides reports of your earnings, transactions and link activity so you can see what worked and what didn't.

How do I add the promotional links to my Web site?

Once your application for affiliate membership is approved, Commission Junction will email you a confirmation of your acceptance. You will then be able to access your personal Commission Junction account, download graphics and set up links. The program provides a wide variety of tested, proven banners and text links. You decide how many TiVo promotions you want to have on your site, as well as where the links appear.

Do I have to create any links?

No. TiVo provides all its affiliates with a variety of approved banners, buttons and text links, all of which are proven to drive sales. You can only place these approved links on your site. New links and banners will be constantly updated.

Can I change the graphics provided by TiVo?

No. TiVo has created graphics that represent our brand name, logo and trademarks in a consistent fashion. Publishers may not alter the look, feel or functionality of the banners, buttons or links provided by TiVo. Any wrong usage of our brand name, logo or trademark could result in termination of agreements and may affect tracking and payment.

What if I change my mind?

We encourage anyone with a web presence and relevant content in the U.S. to join the TiVo affiliate program. But, if you want to remove your links, you can do so at any time. Similarly, TiVo reserves the right to terminate an affiliate from the program. This makes the agreement between TiVo and the affiliate at-will.
