If you’re a Comcast customer and own a TiVo® box, you might have received a letter in the mail about XFINITY® TV upgrading its HD Channels. Here’s the skinny:
Comcast is upgrading the way it delivers HD channels on its XFINITY TV service, and some cable boxes will need to be upgraded to models that support the new HD platform. Comcast has been rolling out these changes market by market, with some markets already completed and some markets yet to be updated. Comcast is notifying customers a few months in advance of the update, so customers can take the proper precautions to ensure their TV experience isn’t interrupted.
So what does that mean for you as a TiVo user?
If you own a TiVo BOLT™, TiVo Roamio®, TiVo Premiere, or Series 4 or later TiVo HD DVR, you are fine; your box already supports the new HD platform. Only those TiVo users with our earliest HD DVR, the Series 3, will need to upgrade their box.
