TiVo Winter Olympic Coverage — Top Moments — February 22, 2014

On the last full day of Olympic competition, two of TiVo’s Top Moments went to a non-medal event, the Women’s Figure Skating Champions Gala, but a harrowing crash during the Men’s  Four-man Bobsled event claims the number one spot. Canada’s Justin Kripps, Jesse Lumsden, Cody Sorensen and Ben Coakwell all manage to walk away after a harrowing encounter going into one of the turns.  In only the second bobsleigh crash in over 700 runs during these Winter Olympics, members of Canada 3 flip onto their backs and then complete the course on their side, effectively at the mercy of the sled as it completes its run.

Flanking our Top Moments are two events from the Men’s Slalom Run 2, the first involving the oldest Gold medalist in Alpine Skiing history, Mario Matt of Austria. With already a comfortable lead in the event, Matt takes the final run down the slopes of the Sochi games securing the top spot for Austria. From unbridled success to frustration, the number five Moment belongs to the USA’s Ted Ligety as he fails to compete the course during the Men’s Slalom Run 2.  TiVo’s second Top Moment belongs to Russia’s darling of the ice, Adelina Sotnikova, as she skates in the Champions Gala, and Meryl Davis and Charlie White claim the number three spot with their effervescent performance in the Gala event.
