Operator Partners Can Now Deploy the TiVo Mobile App
The TiVo mobile app is easy to use, intuitive, highly rated – and now available as a white-label ‘powered by TiVo’ solution for cable operators.
By partnering with TiVo, operators’ subscribers owning TiVo and non-TiVo devices alike realize the full value of their subscription. The mobile apps ‘powered by TiVo’ provide an easy to use interface to find out What to Watch Now, see what’s coming up next through the TiVo Live Guide or browse/search TV and movies. Customers can also explore and learn even more about their favorite TV shows, movies, actors and directors. As always, cable subscribers with TiVo devices will be able to remotely schedule recordings, Wish Lists and Season Passes, manage the DVR’s To Do and Season Pass Lists, and control their device with the mobile app’s remote control functionality.
Announced at the NCTA Cable Show 2013 in Washington DC, mobile apps ‘powered by TiVo’ are flexibly built so the app is ready to integrate seamlessly into cable operator extensions (e.g. customer help, billing, account management, etc.). Additionally, the mobile apps overall branding is easily customized so that operator’s unique branding is front and center while still retaining the proven easy-to-use interface.
And deploying TiVo’s applications is simple! The customer searches the appropriate App store for the MSO brand, finds the App and downloads it. Then, thanks to integration with the operator identity system which uses SAML authentication (Security Assertion Markup Language), the customer logs in using their existing MSO credentials. An easy way to download an easy-to-use app only seemed appropriate.
