Walk Off the Earth’s One-Guitar Rendition of “Somebody I Used to Know” Top YouTube Video of the Month

 In Entertainment

Since It’s the first Friday of the month, we thought we’d take a look at the latest YouTube numbers to see what captured everyone’s attention this January. And it turns out that the number one YouTube video last month was a one-guitar, ten-hand rendition of Gotye’s “Somebody I Used to Know” by Canadian indie band Walk Off the Earth. After 26 takes and 14 hours of filming, the band has accumulated 45,694,569 million views to date, and counting.

The group is apparently known for their inventive music videos, juggling instrumentsstrapping on kazoos (with…coat hangers?), and engaging in a little light head banging. And we have to say, we’re totally into it. Are you liking these guys? Which video is your favorite?

Walk Off the Earth doesn’t have its own Pandora station yet (though we imagine that will change, what with the 40 million people and all), but do a search on your TiVo for their YourTube videos and enjoy them in all their full-screen glory. Now if you’ll excuse us, we’re off to listen to “Party Rock Anthem” one more time.
