Dancing with the Stars premieres on ABC tonight at 8 pm. Host Tom Bergeron and judges Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba return as 11 new stars and their Pro Dancer partners perform the Cha Cha or Viennese Waltz in their first night of competition. Among the stars: astronaut Buzz Aldrin; actresses Pamela Anderson, Shannen Doherty and Niecy Nash; sports reporter Erin Andrews; Olympic gold medal figure skater Evan Lysacek; reality star Kate Gosselin; former TV “Bachelor” Jake Pavelka; and soap actor Aiden Turner (“All My Children”).

United States of Tara: Golden Globe winner Toni Collette stars as a suburban wife and mother who struggles to handle the pressures of everyday suburban life while dealing with multiple personalities that humiliate her family regularly. In tonight’s second-season premiere, a shocking event in the Gregsons’ neighborhood changes their lives and opens their door on Tara’s family secrets.

The Pacific: Part two of HBO’s The Pacific sprung up on this week’s Season Pass recordings list. In part two, Basilone and the 7th Marines arrive on Guadalcanal to reinforce the 1st Marine Division as they defend a crucial airstrip; Basilone suffers a personal loss; the exhausted members of the 1st Marine Division are evacuated.

Parenthood: This new sitcom is quickly climbing up the top TiVo Season Pass recordings list. In this week’s episode Adam and Kristina (Peter Krause, Monica Potter) resort to questionable tactics as they investigate Haddie’s (Sarah Ramos) secret relationship. Jabbar (Tyree Brown) has an accident under Crosby’s (Dax Shepard) watch. Sarah (Lauren Graham) is at a loss about how to deal with Drew’s (Miles Heizer) budding maturity. Julia and Joel (Erika Christensen, Sam Jaeger) are reluctant to let Amber (Mae Whitman) baby-sit for them in the new episode “Wassup.”
